The City of Thunder Bay is excited to announce the return of Winter FunDays in 2025. Every Sunday 2pm - 4pm, from January 5th to March 16th, exciting indoor & outdoor activities that highlight the joy of winter will be held at Prince Arthur's Landing, the Baggage Building Arts Centre, and various neighbourhoods throughout the city.

FREE parking is available at Marina Park on Sundays! Bring your coziest winter gear, skates, and enjoy all of the beauty and recreation Marina Park has to offer.

Introduction to Figure Skating

Join us for a fun and exciting introduction to the world of figure skating! Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience on the ice, this program is designed to help you learn the basics of figure skating in a supportive and friendly environment. Led by experienced skaters from Thunder Bay Figure Skating Club this will feature the opportunity to see and learn some figure skating skills. Lace up your skates and come discover the joy of skating! Helmets required.

Feathered Wings - Crafts with CAHEP 

Unleash your creativity and design unique paper feathers using ink, pencil crayons, pastels, watercolor, acrylic, and other craft materials. Take your feather home or contribute it to a collective wing installation on the wall, perfect for selfies! Celebrate community and creativity while leaving your mark on a beautiful display that will remain throughout Winter Fun Days.

All the DAZE Productions will be serving hot chocolate in the Bagage Building Arts Centre as the cast of FROZEN Jr.

Fibre Arts Puppets & Toys - Crafts with CAHEP 

Transform mittens, gloves, or socks into one-of-a-kind puppets or stuffed toys with the guidance of professional fibre artists. Explore sewing techniques and craft decorations to create a unique toy or interactive puppet that's entirely your own. All materials provided—bring your imagination!

Sculpture Garden
Come and celebrate winter at Marina Park! Stroll through the Festival Area to admire the stunning snow sculptures and the imaginative “No-Snow No Problem” sculptures. Don’t forget to vote for your favourite!

Curling
Warm up by the fire and challenge your friends to a game of curling on our outdoor crokicurl!

Skating
Lace up your skates and enjoy the rink, ready for you to glide across. With FREE parking available at Marina Park on Sundays, it’s the perfect time to bundle up in your coziest winter gear and take advantage of all the beauty and recreation Marina Park has to offer.


3D Paper Animals - Crafts with CAHEP 

Join CAHEP in the Baggage Building Arts Centre and build layered 3D paper animals using colorful painted or decorated paper. Create each part of your animal in layers and assemble them with accordion-style paper strips for a dynamic and fun result. Let your imagination guide your design!


All the DAZE Productions

Join Olaf from 2-4pm to sing, dance and participate in theatre games in the Baggage Building Arts Centre. All the DAZE Productions will present a FREE theatre workshop to participants aged 7-11 in the Baggage Building Arts Centre.

Create a beautiful Winter Games inspired masterpiece.  Scratch Art is created by first colouring an abstract base out of pastels, covering it with a layer of black paint and then scratching away the paint to reveal a beautiful piece of art.
