City recommends Kam River Park site for Temporary Shelter Village

City Council will receive a recommendation from Administration on Monday, April 28 to approve Kam River Heritage Park as the site for the City’s Temporary Shelter Village. The initiative is a key part of the City’s Enhanced Encampment Response: A Human Rights-Based Community Action Plan, aimed at providing safer, more supportive shelter options for people experiencing homelessness.

Waste collection changes week before Easter

Curbside waste collection dates will change next week due to the Good Friday statutory holiday.
Garbage and recycling collection will move one day earlier for all residents. There will be no collection on Good Friday, April 18.
The following are the Easter holiday waste collection changes:
AREA 1 (Tuesday collection day): Collection moves to Monday, April 14
AREA 2 (Wednesday collection day): Collection moves to Tuesday, April 15
AREA 3 (Thursday collection day): Collection moves to Wednesday, April 16
