2023 Fall Street Sweeping Underway

In preparation for winter, city crews have begun the fall street sweeping program. The fall street sweeping program focuses on removing leaves and debris on the roadway to prevent it from blocking storm sewer drains.
Sweeping operations started this week and typically run until the middle of November.
Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to take extra caution when approaching street sweeping operations.

Canada Games Complex to re-open October 18

The Canada Games Complex will re-open to the public on October 18, after a four-and-a-half-month closure for renovations and upgrades.
The Complex was closed in early June, so work to improve energy efficiency and accessibility could be undertaken. The accessibility work done during the closure includes upgrades to changerooms, upgraded showers, the addition of a universal barrier-free changeroom and new accessible washrooms.

Infrastructure repairs require lane reduction on Arthur St. W.

Eastbound traffic on Arthur Street West has been reduced to one lane between Chilton Avenue and Ottawa Avenue, in order to facilitate infrastructure repairs.
Additionally, Willar Avenue will be closed at Arthur Street West while the work is completed.
Crews expect the work to take three days to complete.
Drivers are asked to obey the construction signs, drive with caution, and use alternate routes around the construction zone.

Section of Arthur Street to be Reduced to One Eastbound Lane

To accommodate infrastructure repairs, Arthur Street West between Brown Street and Edward Street South will be reduced to one eastbound through lane beginning at 6 am on Thursday, Sept. 28.
Two westbound through lanes will remain open.
Crews expect the work to be completed by the end of the day, at which time all lanes will be opened.
Drivers are asked to obey the construction signs, drive with caution, and use alternate routes around the construction zone.
