Orange Shirt Day, and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021. On this day, the City of Thunder Bay, along with community partners, will honour the Indigenous children, families and survivors that have been, and continue to be, affected by the devastating legacy of residential schools.

Notice is hereby given that the Council of The Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay, at its meeting held on Monday, November 25, 2019, declared surplus, once vested, to the City’s requirements pursuant to the City’s policies, the following properties:

(C214) The lands and building municipally known as 300 Finlayson Street, described as Lot 3, Block 34, Registered Plan W54, having an area of 352.51 square metres or 3,794.43 square feet. The City proposes to sell the property on the open market.

The 17th Annual Mayor’s Mulligan Golf Tournament presented by Enbridge Gas, announced today that $21,540 was raised during this year’s event in support of PRO Kids. This bringing the total raised in the past 17 years to $214,540 for charitable organizations. A cheque was presented by Mayor Bill Mauro and Luke Skaarup, Regional Director Enbridge Gas, to Laura Daniele, PRO Kids Coordinator, during the Mayor’s Mulligan on Friday, Sept. 10.

Treasure Exchange Days Returns September 11 and 12

The City's popular Treasure Exchange Days event returns this weekend. Residents who have items in good condition that they wish to give away may leave them onthe curb anytime after 5pm on Friday, Sept. 10, labelled as "free." Residents are invited to tour their neighbourhoods on Sept. 11 and 12 to find treasures.

All items not taken must be removed from the curb by 7 pm on Sunday, Sept 12. Solid Waste & Recycling Services will not collect these items.

Northwood Splash Pad to Operate for Labour Day Weekend

Thunder Bay’s newest splash pad at the Northwood Playfield on James Street will be available for children to enjoy over the Labour Day weekend.

“We’re happy to make the Northwood splash pad available for the kids this weekend, even though some of the finishing touches are yet to be added,” said Cory Halvorsen, Manager of the City’s Parks and Open Spaces. “On the last few days before school begins, we hope lots of children will enjoy the new splash pad.”
