Mayor's Mulligan Returns in New Format to Support PRO Kids

The 16th Annual Mayor’s Mulligan will run as a special Putting Edition this year in support of PRO Kids. The annual event, which has cumulatively raised $208,500 to date, will be offered in a different format to accommodate the current COVID-19 climate.

Two City Splash Pads to Remain Open until Labour Day

 To allow children to take full advantage of the mild summer weather and delayed school start, two of the City’s splash pads, at the North End Recreation Centre and at Franklin Park, will remain open up to and including Labour Day, Sept. 7. In addition, the County Park splash pad will operate until Sunday, Aug. 30, at which time it will close for the end of summer.

Today, the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) hosted an outdoor event to celebrate the success of 32 foreign skilled workers who have received a community recommendation through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). The successful candidates have received full-time permanent jobs with over 16 local employers and can now apply for their permanent residency with the Federal Government.

City Invites Feedback on 55 Plus Programs

 The City of Thunder Bay is gathering resident feedback as it works on reopening plans for 55 Plus centre programs. No reopening date has been set at this time for the centres, which were closed at the start of the pandemic.

The City is launching an online survey to assess the level of comfort with reopening the two older adult centres which include the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre and the West Arthur Community Centre 55 Plus Programs.
