2018 Mayor’s Community Safety Award Nominations Open

September 25, 2018 – The Thunder Bay Crime Prevention Council is calling for nominations for the Eighth Annual Mayor’s Community Safety Awards, which recognize Thunder Bay residents and groups who are working to make our city safer.

Nominations officially open today, and the deadline for submissions is Oct. 5 at 4:30 pm.

The awards will be presented during a special ceremony that will take place during the Nov. 5 meeting of Thunder Bay City Council.

Significant historical, architectural and cultural sites in Thunder Bay will open their doors to the public on  Saturday, Sept. 8, during Doors Open Thunder Bay. August 28, 2018 – The Thunder Bay Crime Prevention Council, in partnership with the City of Thunder Bay’s Recreation & Culture Division, submitted an application to Public Safety Canada for a Crime Prevention Action Fund Grant to support a Youth Inclusion Program (YIP) for Thunder Bay. Public Safety Canada has approved support for this program for five years, ending March 31, 2023.

Multi-use Trail at Confederation College Closed

The City of Thunder Bay’s Parks & Open Spaces Section and Confederation College would like to remind users that the popular multi-use trail through Confederation College is closed during the entire period of the reconstruction of the bridge over the McIntyre River at Confederation College.
