Section of John Street closed for watermain repairs

A section of John Street will be closed on Wednesday, August 28 as crews continue to work on watermain repairs.

John Street will be closed in both directions between Secord Street and Algoma Street Wednesday morning. The City will provide an update when the roadway is ready to reopen.

Access to the sidewalk on the south side of John Street will be closed as the work proceeds. Access to the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot remains available via Memorial Avenue and Queen Street.

A section of John Street will close on Tuesday, August 27 to allow for repairs to a watermain break.

John Street will be closed in both directions between Secord Street and Algoma Street beginning at 6am on Tuesday.

Access to the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot remains available via Memorial Avenue and Queen Street. The John Street access will be closed.

Delaney Arena to operate with modifications this season

The City of Thunder Bay will be operating Delaney Arena in a modified capacity for the upcoming 2024/25 ice season due to ice refrigeration system failures and problems with the arena floor.
