Reduced lanes on Arthur Street

Lane closures will be in place on a section of Arthur Street between Mountdale Avenue and James Street starting on Friday, August 16 to allow for resurfacing work.

Starting this Thursday, vehicles that violate the new expanded hours and paid-parking area regulations throughout Thunder Bay will no longer receive a first-time offence warning and will get a ticket.

Hours of enforcement, parking rates and enforcement locations were changed effective June 1 of this year. Boulevard Lake playground to temporarily close for maintenance

The playground structure at Boulevard Lake Park will be closed later this week to allow for maintenance work to be completed on the rubber surface.

The closure is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 14 at 4 pm, weather permitting. The playground will remain closed until the work is complete.

During the closure, access to the playground area will be restricted and barricades placed around the structure.

Section of Simpson Street to close

A section of Simpson Street will be closed beginning Friday, August 9 to allow for renewal work on underground infrastructure in the area.

Simpson Street will be fully closed to traffic between Ogden Street and Cameron Street beginning on Friday morning. Signage will direct motorists to detours via McKenzie Street and May Street.

The closure is expected to be in place for 10 to 12 weeks as crews replace sewer, water, and stormwater infrastructure and resurface the roadway.
