Treasure Exchange Days Coming June 15 & 16

The City’s twice-yearly Treasure Exchange Days event will take place this coming weekend on June 15 and 16. Residents with used items in good condition that they wish to give away may leave them on the curb any time after 5 pm on Friday, June 14, labelled “free.” Residents can then tour their neighbourhoods over the weekend to find treasures.

Power outage affects services at Victoriaville Civic Centre

This advisory has been updated with new information.
Please be advised that City of Thunder Bay service counters in the Victoriaville Civic Centre will be closed on Tuesday due to a power outage. Service counters will reopen on Wednesday for normal operating hours.
The availability of some services will be impacted while the City works with Synergy North to resolve this issue. Residents can contact Infrastructure & Operations Dispatch at 807-625-2195 for more information.

Statement from City Manager on Transit Incident

At approximately 6am today an incident occurred at the City Hall bus terminal that involved a physical altercation between a City Transit Operator and a member of the public.
The incident was reported to Thunder Bay Police Service. City of Thunder Bay officials are currently investigating. The operator is on leave until the investigation is complete.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety of all Thunder Bay Transit employees, passengers and members of the public,” said Norm Gale, City Manager.

Muskeg Express temporarily out of service

The Muskeg Express train ride at Centennial Park will be out of service until further notice due to a front wheel derailment.
The popular attraction had undergone inspection and numerous successful test runs last fall as well as this spring to prepare for opening in June. However, the ride unfortunately went out of service last weekend.
