Council Ratifies Agreement with the Ontario Nurses' Association

January 13, 2015 - City Council ratified a two-year collective agreement with the Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) which represents 58 full-time, part-time and casual Registered Nurses in the City's three Homes for the Aged.

The agreement runs from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2016, and provides for general wage increases of 1.4% each year.

New Traffic Signals Being Activated Wednesday

January 13, 2015 - New traffic signals at two Thunder Bay intersections will be activated the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 14 at approximately 10 am.

The new signals are located at the intersections of Valley Street and Strand Avenue, and Golf Links Road and Riviera Drive South.

Holiday Tree Collection Sites Open Boxing Day

December 23, 2014 - The City will once again recycle natural trees this holiday season, grinding the trees into wood chips which will be added to the compost pile at the City's Solid Waste and Recycling Facility. Compost is given away each spring to beautify residents' lawns and flower gardens.

December 19, 2014 - Thunder Bay residents are reminded that the brightly-coloured or foil wrapping paper often used during the Christmas season cannot be recycled because of its high ink content.
