New Indigenous Recognition Wall Unveiled at City Archives

A new Indigenous Recognition Wall was unveiled this morning at the City’s Harry Kirk Archives and Records Centre on Vickers Street.

The Wall, mounted near the Archives’ entrance, is composed of three translucent panels depicting the Robinson-Superior Treaty of 1850, a land recognition statement, and the City’s 2010 Declaration of the Rights of Aboriginal Peoples.

Behind the panels is a historic image of Anemki Wajiw (Thunder Mountain – also known as Mount McKay).

Section of Rosslyn Road Closed Beginning September 28

Rosslyn Road from 20th Sideroad to Neebing Avenue will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 28 beginning at 9 am to allow for repairs to the water distribution system.

The road will be open to local traffic only, and closed completely at 1996 Rosslyn Road. Emergency services will be accommodated.

Repairs are expected to be completed within 24 hours.

Drivers are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage when travelling near the construction area.

18th Annual Mayor’s Mulligan Raises Funds & Awareness for PRO Kids

The 18th Annual Mayor’s Mulligan Golf Tournament presented by Enbridge announced $28,411 raised in support of PRO Kids at this year’s event. This fun-filled charitable tournament saw teams participate in golf challenges and games, a silent auction, and dinner at Strathcona Golf Course on Friday, Sept. 23. A total of $242,951 has been raised by the Mayor’s Mulligan over the past 18 years for charitable organizations.
