PRO Kids Encourages Families to Skate in Support of Local Children & Youth

The community is invited to grab their skates and get active outside as part of the PRO Kids’ Skate-2-Win Campaign which runs until March 14. Families are encouraged to go skating at their favourite outdoor spot for some quality time together while enjoying healthy activity in support of PRO Kids.

Coalition to End Human Trafficking Launches New Website

Today is Human Trafficking Awareness Day in Ontario and as such, the Thunder Bay Coalition to End Human Trafficking launched a new website to help educate people about human trafficking and to provide community supports and services for survivors/victims.

Water Main Break Repair to Close Hewitson Street

As a result of a water main break, a temporary road closure will take place from approximately 4:00 am to 4:30 pm, Friday, Feb. 19, on Hewitson Street between Carrick Street and Russell Street.

Hewitson Street will be closed to through traffic during this time.  Access to both Carrick Street and Russell Street will be available from either side of the road closure; only the Hewitson Street section under repair will be closed. 

Motorists are asked to drive with caution in the area of the road...

City Prepares for Move to COVID-19 Response Level Red

The Province announced today that on Tuesday, Feb. 16 the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) zone will now move to Red: Control (stringent measures). The Red category of the Province’s COVID-19 Response Framework is outlined by the Province as “Broader-scale actions and restrictions across multiple sectors to control the spread.
