Reduced Load Restrictions Take Effect

The Ministry of Transportation’s Provincial Reduced Load Regulations are expected to come into effect shortly. Heavy load restrictions will apply within the City of Thunder Bay limits beginning at 8 am on Monday, March 16. 

The Reduced Load Restrictions apply to all streets within the City of Thunder Bay limits with the exception the streets, or portions of streets, listed below which are exempt. The reduced loads exemption restrictions map can be viewed online at www.thunderbay.ca/heavyloads.

Outdoor Skating Rinks Closed for the Season

The City’s outdoor skating rinks have closed for the season due to seasonal effect. The only exception is the Prince Arthur’s Landing skating rink, which will remain open until Saturday, March 21, if weather conditions remain favourable.

The City is encouraging residents to visit Prince Arthur’s Landing skating rink, which is open every day from 11:30 am to 9 pm, until the end of March Break.

2019 Annual Report on Drinking Water Quality Now Available

The City of Thunder Bay has released its 2019 Drinking Water Quality Annual Report. 

This Report details water quality results from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2019, in accordance with Ontario Drinking Water System Regulation (O. Reg. 170/03) under the Safe Drinking Water Act 2002. It also contains information on how water is treated, how it is delivered, and an update on the City of Thunder Bay’s Corrosion Control Program for lead.
