Thunder Bay Launches Digital Main Street Service Squad

Section of Vickers Street to Close for Storm Sewer Work

Starting on Tuesday, Oct. 15, Vickers Street, between Dease Street and Weigand Avenue will be closed for storm sewer work. Local access at each end will be permitted.

The work is expected to take approximately five days to complete. The construction schedule is subject to change as various factors, such as weather, can have an impact on project timelines.

Motorists are asked to take alternate routes if possible, use extra caution, and obey all posted signage when travelling near the construction area.

Dawson Road Pavement Resurfacing Rescheduled to Oct. 10

Asphalt pavement resurfacing of Dawson Road between Strand Avenue and Fassina Street, which will result in limited access to the County Fair Mall and area businesses, has been delayed by one day and will begin on Thursday, Oct. 10.

The intersection of Strand Avenue and East Avenue will be closed at times during the day to accommodate the construction work. One point of access at Strand Avenue or East Avenue will remain open throughout the construction.

Chippewa Road to be Reduced to One Lane of Traffic

A section of Chippewa Road, between James Street and Mountain Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic due to street light installation. Flagmen will be directing traffic.

Construction is scheduled to start on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and is expected to be completed by end of the day on Thursday, Oct. 10. The construction schedule is subject to change as various factors, such as weather, can have an impact on project timelines.

Mayor’s Mulligan Raises Funds and Awareness for PRO Kids

The 2019 Mayor’s Mulligan Golf Tournament presented by TD, announced today that $15,694.18 was raised during this year’s event in support of PRO Kids. This bringing the total raised in the past 15 years to $208,694.18 for charitable organizations.
