Rosslyn Road Closure Extended Until June 30

June 29, 2015 – Rosslyn Road from Neebing Avenue to 20th Sideroad will remain closed until 8 pm on Tuesday, June 30, to allow crews to complete repairs to a water main.

Local traffic will have limited access to the closed section, up to the excavation site at 1250 Rosslyn Road, where the road will be closed to all through traffic.

Section of Edward Street to Close for Widening

June 29, 2015 – Edward Street from Arthur Street to Victoria Avenue will close to northbound traffic starting on Wednesday, July 1 to allow for road construction and widening.

The work is expected to take up to five weeks to complete. The section will remain open to southbound traffic to allow access to properties and businesses.

Section of River Street to Close for Storm Sewer Construction

June 29, 2015 – River Street from Rockwood Avenue to Pine Street will close to through traffic on Thursday, July 2, to facilitate storm sewer construction.

June 27, 2015 – The Aboriginal Liaison Unit is looking for sponsors to bring 10 Aboriginal youth to Jiaozou, China, to represent the Aboriginal community and the City of Thunder Bay and Canada during opening ceremonies at an international Tai Chi competition and festival in August.

City Announces 2015 Canada Day Festivities

June 25, 2015 - The Recreation & Culture Division on Thursday announced details of the upcoming Canada Day festivities, which are scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, at Prince Arthur's Landing at Marina Park.

With past attendance estimates of over 20,000, Canada Day remains Thunder Bay's largest annual single-day event. The celebration begins at 5:30 pm with entertainment and activities for people of all ages.
