The upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will result in date changes for waste & recycling collection during the week of September 26. City residents with regular waste and recycling collection will receive collection one day earlier.

The City of Thunder Bay, EarthCare Thunder Bay, Active Transportation Thunder Bay and EVANO (the Electric Vehicle Association of Northern Ontario) will be hosting an Electric Vehicle (EV) Show this Saturday, September 24, at the CLE Coliseum Building.

This City’s popular Treasure Exchange Days event returns this weekend, which is a great opportunity to exchange reusable household items, furniture, small appliances, toys, and more for free.

Residents who have good-condition items they wish to give away may leave them on the curb any time after 5 pm on Friday, Sept. 23, labelled “free.” Residents are then invited to tour their neighbourhoods on Sept. 24 and 25, to find treasures.

Repairs to Water Distribution System Closes Section of Frederica St.

The City of Thunder Bay is currently completing repairs to the city’s water distribution system on Frederica St. between James Street and Euclid Avenue resulting in a temporary road closure.

It is estimated the road will be reopened by 6pm tonight.

Ongoing operations may impact traffic flows and necessitate additional road closure in the next 48 hours as city staff continue to restore full water service to all addresses effected.
