Free Canada Day Activities & Entertainment at Marina Park July 1

The City of Thunder Bay is happy to announce the upcoming, FREE activities and entertainment for Canada Day this year, presented by Ontario Power Generation, on Monday, July 1, at Marina Park.

With community events happening over the entire summer, the fireworks will not be taking place on July 1, but at a Live on the Waterfront event at the end of August.

River Terrace Residents May Experience Lower Water Pressure

Residents in the River Terrace area may experience lower water pressure, specifically during peak demand times due to a watermain leak.

City Crews are currently working to address the issue.

If residents in the area have any questions or concerns, or experience any water quality issues, they are asked to contact Infrastructure & Operations Dispatch at 625-2195.

Residents Invited to Share Input on 2023 City Budget Direction

As the City of Thunder Bay prepares for its 2023 budget year ahead, it is gathering input from citizens to help inform Council’s decision making.

The 2023 City budget impacts the programs and services delivered by the City. The budget determines what resident tax dollars will, and will not fund. Feedback is important to help set a budget that reflects the needs of the community.

Residents are encouraged to get involved and have their say through a pre-budget survey available from June 22 – July 20....

Road Work on Sections of John Street Road

John Street Road, at Sunflower Street, will be reduced to one lane of traffic in the westbound direction, to allow for road work at the intersection. Those travelling eastbound will be detoured around the construction work area. 

Work is estimated to take two days to complete, but weather conditions and other factors may impact project timelines.
