Voter Information Letters Arriving Soon

Voter Information Letters (VILs) will start arriving by mail next week to all eligible Thunder Bay electors currently on the voters’ list for the upcoming 2022 Municipal & School Board Election.
“VILs contain important information on how, when and where to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election,” says Krista Power, City Clerk and Returning Officer.
VILs contain:
- A voter identification number and PIN for internet voting
- Dates and locations for advance voting, including drive-thru voting

Centennial Park Playground Official Grand Opening

The City of Thunder Bay celebrated the official grand opening of the newly reconstructed Centennial Park Playground today on-site with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Site Preparation Underway to Lift James Whalen Tug

In anticipation of next week’s work to raise and move the James Whalen tug, contractors will begin moving equipment and preparing the site today at Kaministiquia River Heritage Park.
In early May, the tug took on water and sank.
The pedestrian underpass at Donald Street will be closed to accommodate the equipment and recovery operations. Fencing is also going up in the park to keep onlookers at a safe distance.
