MECG Recognizes One Year Anniversary of Pandemic Declaration

Public Consultation on Red Light Cameras Begins

The City of Thunder Bay is studying the possibility of implementing a Red Light Camera Program at 10 intersections where accidents have been caused by red light running. Heavy Load Restrictions to Take Effect

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Reduced Load Period is expected to come into effect shortly. In conjunction with this, Heavy Load Restrictions will apply within the City of Thunder Bay limits beginning at 8 am on Monday, March 15. 

Heavy Load Restrictions will apply to all streets within the City of Thunder Bay limits, with the exception of those streets or portions of streets listed below, which are exempt:

The City will be making changes to some programs and facilities to comply with provincial regulations, address reduced demand, mitigate negative financial implications and limit the risk of exposure and spread of COVID-19.

The City of Thunder Bay remains in Grey: Lockdown (maximum measures) of the Province's COVID-19 Response Framework, and only essential City services are operating during this time.

2020 Report on Drinking Water Quality Now Available

The City of Thunder Bay has released the 2020 Drinking Water Quality Annual Report that details water quality results from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2020, in accordance with Ontario Drinking Water System Regulation (O. Reg. 170/03) under the Safe Drinking Water Act 2002.

“This Report confirms the continued delivery of high-quality, safe drinking water,” said Michelle Warywoda, Director of the Environment Division. “The City monitors drinking water quality 24-hours a day, seven days a week.”
