Section of John Street Road Closed July 12-16

To accommodate the installation of sewer and water infrastructure, John Street Road, between Chercover Drive and Biloski Road, will be closed to all traffic from July 12 to July 16.

Detours will be posted. Eastbound traffic on John Street Road will detour via Biloski Road and Chercover Drive. Westbound traffic on John Street Road will detour via Hutton Park Drive.

Motorists are asked to drive with caution in the area of the road closure.

Section of Cumberland Street North Closed for Patio Season

Cumberland Street North, between Red River Road and Van Norman Street, will be closed on July 8 to complete line and parking spot painting. Once work is complete—expected this afternoon—this section of Cumberland Street will become one-way with southbound traffic only until the end of the patio season.

The City of Thunder Bay is issuing an extreme heat warning alert to the community as part of the COVID-19 Severe Weather Response Plan.
