The City of Thunder Bay will receive nearly $9.4 million in Federal-Provincial ‘Safe Restart’ funding to assist with COVID-19 pressures, Mayor Bill Mauro announced today.

Update on Forest Fire Evacuees

The City of Thunder Bay received 54 evacuees Tuesday from Red Lake, in response to a 420-hectare forest fire just outside that town, and is preparing today to receive up to 200 Stage One or vulnerable population evacuees from Eabametoong First Nation. Pacific Avenue Bridge Reopens as Simpson Street Construction Continues

As upgrades to infrastructure along Simpson Street continue, the Pacific Avenue Bridge will reopen today or tomorrow.
Starting tomorrow, Aug. 13, Simpson Street from Pacific Avenue to Northern Avenue will be closed in both directions for grading and paving. The closure will last approximately two weeks.
