Preparations Begin for New Adventure Playground at Centennial Park

Following public engagement in the summer and fall of 2019 on the design of a renewed play area at Centennial Park, the City’s Parks & Open Spaces Section will begin removing the older equipment starting this week.

Pioneer Ridge Reintroducing Indoor Visits

As of 1 pm today, indoor visits at Pioneer Ridge are being reintroduced, and outdoor visits are continuing in the designated outdoor visiting area.

Prior to each visit, the visitor must pass an active screening questionnaire, either using an online pre-screening tool, or be screened by home staff onsite (*reminder to not come if experiencing any health symptoms).

SNEMS Paramedics Participate in Memorial Bike Ride

In past summers, paramedics from Ontario would get together to take part in the Memorial Bike Ride to Parliament Hill to honour the memory of Canada’s fallen paramedics, combat medics, and search and rescue technicians, and to shed light on the issues of PTSD and suicide. But this year plans had to adjust to the times, so now the Memorial Bell is travelling across Ontario, stopping for a few days with each paramedic service to honour the paramedics who have fallen in the Line of Duty.

Churchill pool, summer ice, community centres to re-open in Phase 3

City Council approved the implementation of a number of reopening plans last night as part of Phase 3 summer operations.

Re-openings will take anywhere from 2-6 weeks so that staff can get the required resources and changes in place to safely welcome the public back into facilities. The following facilities were approved for reopening:

Thunder Bay CEDC provides $40,000 in funding to support the recovery of the local culinary and tourism sector

The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce $40,000 in funding to help support the Waterfront BIA’s StrEATery project.
