Section of James Street to Close on Saturday for Paving

One block of James Street from Riverview Drive to Victoria Avenue will be closed in both directions on Saturday, July 11 for paving.

Motorists are asked to choose an alternate route during this brief closure.

Three City Splash Pads Open Starting Today

Starting today, City splash pads located at County Park, North End Recreation Centre, and Franklin Park will be open to the public. Staff will be on-site to coordinate and monitor the splash pad operations. Cory Halvorsen, Manager of the City’s Parks & Open Spaces Section, shared his enthusiasm. “We are very excited to open the splash pads today. They are great way for kids to have fun, get outside for some exercise, and cool off in the summer.”

Training with a Pro Goes Virtual This Summer

PRO Kids’ Training with a Pro is back for its fifth year, but this time, it will be delivered in a virtual format. The public is invited to exercise and train along with their professional hockey idols every Wednesday from July 22 to August 12, at 12 pm.

COVID-19: Service Changes Coming to Transit Routes, Fares and Boarding

As the City’s COVID-19 recovery continues to evolve, Thunder Bay Transit is continuing to adjust service levels to best meet fluctuating ridership levels and customer demands. Changes will be coming into effect on July 19 and 20 for routes, fares and boarding.

Citizen Comment Invited on Proposed Chapples Multi-Use Indoor Turf Facility

The public is invited to watch a virtual presentation by Stantec Architecture on the proposed Chapples multi-use indoor turf facility and provide comment. The presentation and comment form are available until July 19, at www.thunderbay.ca/GetInvolved.
