Superior North EMS Base under Construction in Kakabeka Falls

The Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge has awarded the tender to construct a new 2,240-square-foot ambulance base on Marian Street in Kakabeka Falls, Ontario to Aurora Construction Ltd. One Lane of John Street Road Closed at Mercier Street July 28

From 6 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 28, one lane of John Street Road will be closed to eastbound traffic at Mercier Street for the installation of new sewer and water infrastructure. A detour will direct all eastbound traffic to Hutton Park Drive.

Eastbound traffic originating from Chercover Drive will be directed west to the detour.          

Westbound traffic on John Street Road will not be affected by the closure.

The City’s Municipal Emergency Control Group (MECG) met today with community partners as part of its ongoing management of the COVID-19 situation and discussed the importance of residents following the full range of measures to protect against the spread of the virus.

Starting Friday, July 24, the outside lane of Cumberland Street North, southbound over the Current River Bridge, will be closed to vehicle traffic to accommodate pedestrians walking the loop around Boulevard Lake.
