City bike lanes opening delayed

With the late snowfall this year and the possibility of more to come, the City of Thunder Bay has delayed the official opening of bike lanes.  Bike lanes typically open on May 1 after street sweeping operations have been completed.

Boat slips now available at Thunder Bay Marina

The Thunder Bay Marina opens for the season on May 15, and slips are now available to reserve.

A range of slip sizes are available for vessels of various sizes. Other services include:

  • fuel (gas and diesel)
  • potable water
  • pump outs
  • showers, washrooms and more

Staff are also on hand to assist you from 9 am-9 pm daily (seasonally).

City Revises Organizational Structure

On April 24, City Council approved a revised organizational structure for the City of Thunder Bay. The new structure and corresponding employee transfers will take effect on July 4.

“When setting the 2023 City Budget, City Council directed me to identify significant budget savings and provide a report back to them in June. Candidate financials posted online

 Candidate financial statements for all council and school board candidates from the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election have been officially posted online today as required by the Municipal Elections Act.

Returning Officer Krista Power said that after the end of the campaign period, candidates and registered third party advertisers must file a financial statement and auditor’s report (if required) disclosing all contributions and expenses for their campaigns.
