City participates in joint initiative towards transit electrification

The City of Thunder Bay, along with twelve other municipalities in Ontario, is participating in a study that will develop information resources and implement a roadmap for the transition to electric vehicles.

City Seeks Talent, Vendors and Community Groups for Events

With COVID restrictions now lifted, the City will be moving forward with a modified season of in-person programming and is inviting talent, food vendors, event vendors, artist/artisans and community groups to apply to participate in the City’s annual events series.

Expanded Eye on the Street program helps promote public safety

In June 2021, City Council approved the expansion of the Eye on the Street program, including installing new cameras in strategic locations, upgrading the hardware and network, and increasing the number and locations of cameras.

Water Service Work Closes Westbound Lanes on Oliver Road

A water service repair is taking place today on Oliver Road, between Balmoral Street and Frankwood Avenue. Those travelling west toward Balmoral Street, will be rerouted up Frankwood Avenue, as westbound lanes are closed.
Eastbound traffic on Oliver Road will be unaffected.
The water service repair is expected to be completed by end of the day.
Motorists are asked to plan an alternative route, to drive with caution, and obey all signage in the area of the road closure.
