On behalf of City Council, Mayor Bill Mauro made the following statement today regarding the situation in Ukraine. The Ukrainian flag will also be raised at City Hall.

City Recognized as Leader in Sustainability for Battery Recycling

The City of Thunder Bay has been named by Call2Recycle Canada, Inc. as a 2021 Leader in Sustainability. The Leader in Sustainability Award is granted each year to organizations that display exceptional commitment to battery recycling.
The City of Thunder Bay collected 11,301 kilograms of household batteries through the Call2Recycle® program during 2021, making it one of the program’s top-performing partners.

The City of Thunder Bay is excited to provide winter activities for the whole family throughout the Family Day weekend. The usual SnowDay on the Waterfront event has been modified for 2022 due to ongoing pandemic impacts. Paramedic Services Respond to Staffing Pressures

Superior North Emergency Medical Services (SNEMS) is experiencing staffing pressures due to COVID-19 isolation.
