The City of Thunder Bay’s Parks & Open Spaces Section and the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) are looking for the public’s feedback on proposed improvements at the Mountdale/Neste Boat Launch and surrounding park area.
The Mountdale Boat launch is located on Mountdale Avenue, off Montreal Street and provides access into the Kaministiquia River and then to Lake Superior.

The next municipal election will be held on Monday, October 24, and the Returning Officer for the City of Thunder Bay officially launched election season today.
“As the Returning Officer for the Municipal Election, I’m pleased to officially announce election season has begun here in Thunder Bay,” said City Clerk Krista Power, Returning Officer. “Preparation work is well underway at the Election Office here in City Hall, and we are excited to introduce some new options for voters this year.”

Council extends well received Patio Program for 2022

A popular program allowing outdoor dining in Thunder Bay will continue in 2022, after being approved by City Council.
The temporary patio program allows eligible bars, restaurants, and retail businesses to use a portion of a sidewalk, roadway, public property or private parking lot to operate if the City’s criteria are met.

All residents are invited to complete the City of Thunder Bay’s Citizen Satisfaction Survey. The Survey is now open online at www.thunderbay.ca/GetInvolved.

Waste Collection Changes for Week Before Easter

Curbside waste collection dates, city wide, will change next week due to Good Friday.
Garbage and recycling collection will move one day earlier next week, for all residents. There will be no collection on Good Friday, Friday, April 15.
