Prince Arthur’s Landing Skate Pad Opens Nov. 28

The skate pad at Prince Arthur's Landing will officially open on Sunday, Nov. 28, operating daily from 12 pm to 9 pm. Residents and visitors of all ages and abilities are welcome to enjoy skating at the waterfront throughout the winter months.
Due to staffing shortages, the Water Garden Pavillion will remain closed at this time.

Red River Road is currently closed to traffic between Rockwood Avenue (North and South) and Hodge Street, due to a required water main service repair. There will be no through traffic travelling in either direction until further notice.
Motorists are asked to use Rockwood Avenue North, Rockwood Avenue South and Hodge Street for detouring.
Those travelling near the construction area are asked to drive with caution and obey all posted signage in the area of the road closure.

The City invites residents to share their views in an online survey regarding the Reimagining the North Core Streetscapes Study. The Study will help guide the redesign of the streets in the downtown North Core.

Free Parking for Curbside Pick-up Ending November 21

To support local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic the City of Thunder Bay Parking Authority has offered 15 minutes free parking for curbside pick-up and delivery during the past several months. With many restrictions now lifted across the province, this free parking will end on Sunday, Nov. 21.

The City of Thunder Bay’s bike lanes will close from Nov. 15, 2021 until April 30, 2022. Restrictions for on-street parking in some bike lanes may lift. Check area signage to see if parking is permitted.
Motorists should remain aware of cyclists and share the road. Do not drive in bike lanes, as some cyclists will still be riding.
Thunder Bay’s bike lanes are scheduled to reopen on May 1, 2022, as spring street sweeping allows.
