The Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre celebrated 30 years of friendship and service on Sept. 29, with a Centre celebration. Events included a community BBQ with live music, speeches recognizing the 30 years of service, a bake sale, and car show held the following day.

MECG Encourages Continued Caution in Community

Balmoral Street, between Hartland Street and Montgomery Street, will be closed to through traffic starting on Thursday, Sept. 30, for asphalt resurfacing work.
Work is expected to be completed by Friday, Oct. 8, but weather conditions and other factors may impact project timelines.
Motorists are asked to drive with caution in the area of the construction and detours.

Everyone is encouraged to take part in the upcoming Thunder Bay Culture Days from Sept. 24 to Oct. 24, with over 30 activities registered in the Thunder Bay district. Culture Days is an annual national event that has become one of the nation’s largest participatory cultural events.

Neebing Avenue, between Montreal Street and Broadway Avenue, will be closed to through traffic on Sunday, September 26, from 7 am – 7 pm, to allow for rehabilitation work on the CP rail crossing. Traffic will be able to access Montreal Street from Mountdale Avenue.
The construction schedule is subject to change, as various factors – such as weather – can have an impact on project timelines.
