Proposed 2022 City Budget Released

The proposed 2022 Municipal Budget forms the starting point for City Council’s detailed review. This year’s budget provides an increase in the municipal tax levy after growth of $4.7 million or 2.29%. City Issues Weather Alert

As part of the COVID-19 Severe Weather Response Plan, the City is issuing an alert to the community because of a snowfall warning with total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm, and easterly winds gusting to 50 km/h resulting in local blowing snow.

Outdoor Boarded Skating Rinks Begin Opening December 24

Some of the City’s boarded, outdoor skating rinks will begin opening for the season starting on Friday, Dec. 24.

These sites include: (South) West Thunder, James Street, Tarbutt, Wayland, North Neebing, West Arthur, South Neebing (North) Current River, North End, Brent Park, Carrick, County Park, West End, and John Kushner.

Christmas Tree Drop-off Sites Open Boxing Day

The City will once again recycle natural trees this holiday season, grinding the trees into wood chips to be added to the compost pile at the City’s Solid Waste & Recycling Facility. Compost is given away each spring to beautify residents' lawns and flower gardens.

Impacts to City Services Following New Provincial Regulations

Following the Government of Ontario’s announcement on Friday of new restrictions, including reduced capacity limits for most indoor settings, impacts to City services and recreation facilities will occur.
