To celebrate the amalgamation of Fort William, Port Arthur, Neebing and McIntyre.

And now we both amalgamate,
One hundred thousand strong.
With such an show of enthusiasm,
It cannot be so wrong!

We can all claim the giant now,
And rocky Mount McKay,
The Kam, and Hillcrest, and the Park
We’ll call it Thunder Bay!
Let’s drink to that, and wish it well,
And never rue the day,
In seventy we joined our hands.

Old Fort William has changed its name--
Or shall on New Year’s Day.

As the City of Thunder Bay.

Now Fort William shall be known

Port Arthur too shall now become,
For so the plebiscites say --
(Whether Neebing and McIntyre like it or not)
A part of Thunder Bay.

Now Port Arthur shall be known
As the City of Thunder Bay.

The Sleeping Giant still looks up
From his bed on Thunder Cape.
He sees two cities lying there
Looking out across the lake.

These Lakehead cities now are known
As the City of Thunder Bay.

Both Air Canada and the C.P.R.
On their maps now both will say
One city you have become --
The City of Thunder Bay.
