November 27, 2015 – The City of Thunder Bay’s Animal Services has launched its 12 Strays of Christmas promotion where all adoption fees will be reduced to promote awareness of animals at its shelter.

From Nov. 28 until Dec 12, you can adopt a cat for $50 and a dog for $100 plus taxes, a savings of over $100. Each day a cat or dog will be featured both online and on Facebook in an effort to help get them adopted.

“There will be a variety of cats and dogs to see who are waiting for their forever families,” said Jody Kondrat, Supervisor of Animal Services. All adoption-animals come vaccinated, micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, de-wormed and come with six weeks of free pet health insurance.

If you can’t adopt an animal but would like to make a contribution, a donation can be made over the phone or in person at Animal Services. You can also drop off a holiday gift such as cat or dog treats, leashes, collars or toys.

To adopt an animal or for more information, visit Animal Services at 882 Alloy Place, call 684"2156, or visit www.thunderbay.ca/animals
