The 19th Annual Mayor’s Mulligan Golf Tournament presented by Enbridge announced $27,773 raised in support of PRO Kids at this year’s event. This fun-filled charitable tournament saw teams participate in golf challenges and games, a silent auction, and dinner at Strathcona Golf Course on Friday, Sept. 8. A total of $270,724 has been raised by the Mayor’s Mulligan over the past 19 years for charitable organizations.
“I’m extremely proud to be a part of the Mulligan Golf Tournament,” said Mayor Ken Boshcoff. “By supporting PRO Kids, we are making an impact on kids right here in our community – kids that will be the future of this city! I’d also like to thank the generous sponsors and volunteers who came together to make this event possible. Together we hosted a fun day, but more importantly, we raised money for PRO Kids.”
PRO Kids, which stands for positive recreation opportunities for kids, places children in activities when their families cannot afford the fees. These community programs help children and youth develop leadership, teamwork, self-esteem, and relationship building that are important in a child’s development.
“Being a part of a team or enrolled in an activity can be life changing for kids,” said Laura Daniele, PRO Kids Coordinator. “Funding support from events like the Mayor’s Mulligan are essential to make this possible. Our sincere thanks to the Mayor for hosting this tournament and to all the sponsors, donors, volunteers, and players. There are children out there being active, motivated, and social thanks to your support of PRO Kids.”
The Mayor’s Mulligan is proudly presented by Enbridge. “Supporting events such as the Mayor’s Mulligan as an important way to strengthen our community,” said Michelle Samms, Enbridge Manager of Operations, Northwest Region. “Our involvement of this golf tournament extends beyond the excitement of the greens, every round contributes to empowering local youth by raising vital funds, ensuring access to extracurricular activities. When we invest in our youth, we enrich the health and wellbeing of the community we are proud to serve. We are pleased to support PRO Kids through the Mayor’s Mulligan.”
