The City of Thunder Bay’s Accessibility Advisory Committee is pleased to announce they will be hosting a virtual open house in the fall of 2021. The virtual open house will consist of five to six videos that will be available on the City website and City YouTube channel.
“The Committee recognizes that in-person events may still not be possible in the fall and will be working over the summer to prepare a virtual event that residents can participate in,” said Tessa Soderberg, Chair – Accessibility Advisory Committee. “Our hope is to work with community agencies and residents to create a meaningful event.”
The Committee has launched a short survey to collect input from residents on the topics of interest for the open house videos. Residents can share their input through the online survey, or by visiting the Accessibility Advisory webpage. If residents are unable to access the survey online, they can also call 625-2230 to provide feedback. The survey will be available until June 8, 2021.
The role of the Accessibility Advisory Committee is to guide the City in meeting and exceeding provincial accessibility legislation and remove barriers for people with disabilities when they are brought forward. To learn more about the Committee, residents are invited to visit the Committee webpage.
