January 18, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to announce Rob Colquhoun as the Acting General Manager of Corporate Services & Long-term Care which fulfills the duties of Chief Financial Officer and City Treasurer for the Corporation.
"We are pleased to have Rob step up in this interim role," said Norm Gale, City Manager. "As the Director of Revenue and extensive experience within municipal finance, Rob has proven financial leadership and will be an asset as the City moves forward into the 2016 Budget deliberations."
Rob was born and raised in Thunder Bay and is a graduate of Lakehead University in Business Administration and Accounting. He started his career as a Cost Analyst in a paper mill located in Northern Ontario. In 1987, he returned to Thunder Bay and began working at the City as a Financial Analyst in 1987. In the 29 years since, he has served in various progressive leadership positions in the Finance Department. Currently, as Director of Revenue he leads a team responsible for municipal taxation, water billing and collection, Court Services, Provincial Land Tax Administration on behalf of the Province, and collection of general City billings.
The search for the permanent General Manager is underway following the retirement of Carol Pollard earlier this month.
