May 26, 2017 - Arbor Day is a chance for residents to make Thunder Bay a cleaner, greener and more beautiful place to live. Organized by the City's Parks & Open Spaces Section, Arbor Day will take place this Saturday, May 27, from 10 am - 12 pm, at Dease Park. The event will include the planting of 13 large caliper trees and a pollinator garden. There will also be an opportunity to win prizes and speak with members of the EarthCare Community Greening Group and Northwestern Ontario Emerald Ash Borer Task Force.
"We're excited to be celebrating Arbor Day in Thunder Bay for the 11th year," said Kayla Richard, Image Route Tree Planting Intern. "Volunteers can help us improve the urban forest by planting trees and a pollinator garden at Dease Park. We are also encouraging residents to plant a tree on their own property to celebrate Arbor Day."
