July 5, 2017 - The Once, an award-winning Canadian folk music trio from Newfoundland, will host a "Harmony Through Song" workshop for young people on Wednesday, July 19, from 1 to 3 pm. The workshop is an opportunity for young vocalists to engage with a touring group recognized for their gorgeous three-part harmonies.

"For the first time in 2017 we are excited to be offering an educational opportunity as part of our Live on the Waterfront series," said Ash Young, Supervisor of Cultural Development & Events. "Providing these opportunities for local musicians helps develop our local music sector and build new audiences."

Workshop participants will develop their tone and harmony through a two-hour vocal session led by the members of The Once. No experience is required and youth, up to age 22, are welcome.

The workshop fee is $20 and will be held at Youth Move at Kinsmen Centre, 609 James Street N. Registration is required. To register, call 625-8463.

This unique opportunity is offered as part of Live on the Waterfront 2017, where The Once will perform on Wednesday, July 19.
