July 24, 2017 - Local youth are invited to perfect their baseball technique at "Training with a Pro - The Baseball Edition" on Sunday, Aug. 20, from 10:30 am to 3 pm, at George Burke Park Ball Diamonds.

"We are excited to be able to offer youth the opportunity to train alongside former local pro's," said Laura Daniele, PRO Kids Coordinator. "Thunder Bay's former baseball pros Chris Toneguzzi, of the Milwaukee Brewers Organization; Bob Jesperson, of the Cincinnati Reds Organization; Dan Grant, of the Northern Iowa Panthers; and Jason Hart, of the Chicago Cubs Organization will spend a full day providing training. There will be hitting and pitching drills, positioning pointers and of course a game of baseball. This is a great opportunity for youth to benefit from the experience of former professional athletes."

The baseball clinic is the most recent addition to the Training with a Pro series which has previously included hockey and football. The clinic is a fundraising initiative in support PRO Kids - a service that assists children and youth to participate in local activities when the fees are out of reach for their families. Last year PRO Kids placed over 1,400 children and youth in local community recreational activities including sport, leadership, art, culture and music.

The clinic is offered to participants' ages 8 - 16 years. Registration is now available at a cost of $50 per participant and will include a lunch provided by Subway. In case of rain, a rain date will be scheduled. Additional clinic information is available through the Fall Key available in early August. To register, call 625-8463.

PRO Kids would like to recognize and thank presenting sponsor Tbaytel.
