SEPTEMBER 18, 2018
WHEREAS, Our Kids Count, Big Brothers Big Sisters Program commits to Thunder Bay’s children and youth that we will be leaders in providing them with the highest quality, volunteer based mentoring programs; and
WHEREAS, Our Kids Count, Big Brothers Big Sisters Program is participating in a Canada wide movement created to highlight the importance of mentoring and the impact mentoring has on the lives of children and youth in the community and across Canada; and
WHEREAS, Our Kids Count, Big Brothers Big Sisters Program believes that our children are our future, every individual has true talents to be discovered and shared, volunteers are a critical component to the success of programs and that every child should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential; and
WHEREAS, Our Kids Count, Big Brothers Big Sisters Program envisions an inclusive community with strong, empowered children and youth.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Keith Hobbs, Mayor of the City of Thunder Bay, do hereby proclaim September 18, 2018 as "Big Brothers Big Sisters Day" in Thunder Bay.
