The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to announce two exciting public art opportunities for artists and artist teams.
Artists are invited to submit proposals for artwork that will be displayed proudly on the exterior of a City of Thunder Bay Transit Bus in 2020. The theme for this project is One City. Fifty Years. The intent is to help celebrate and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the amalgamation of the cities of Fort William and Port Arthur and the townships of Neebing and McIntyre. The objective of the 50th Anniversary Celebration theme is to showcase the history of Thunder Bay through people, success stories, culture, heritage and diversity.
Artist teams are also invited to apply to participate in the 2020 Snow Sculpture Competition that will help animate the Prince Arthur’s Landing during the City’s annual SnowDay festivities on Family Day. This year’s themes are One City. Fifty Years. and/or Sports Through the Ages.
