June 1, 2018 - The City of Thunder Bay is once again celebrating the individuals that continue to make its crossing guard program a success with the 13th annual Crossing Guard Appreciation Day today.

The crossing guard program has been in place since 1947; currently 60 crossing guards are employed at the City of Thunder Bay.

"Our crossing guards provide safe crossing of busy City streets for students throughout Thunder Bay, year-round, rain or shine," said Michelle Riemer, Field Supervisor - Crossing Guards. "We appreciate their hard work and dedication and we are pleased to recognize our crossing guards through this annual appreciation day."
