Beginning at 7 pm tomorrow, May 25, Central Avenue between Balmoral Street and Memorial Avenue will be closed as asphalt resurfacing work begins.

The work will be completed in two phases. During Phase 1, eastbound traffic lanes will be closed and only westbound traffic will be permitted. In Phase 2, westbound traffic lanes will be closed and only eastbound traffic will be permitted.

The work is expected to take four to five days to complete.

There will be short periodic closures of both the Balmoral & Central and Memorial & Central intersections, to safely move equipment in the area. At the start of each night’s work, the intersection of Balmoral & Central will be closed. At the end of each night’s work, the intersection of Memorial & Central will be closed. These closures will be short in duration.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage when travelling near the construction area.
