July 13, 2016 - With the summer event season in full-swing, the City reminds residents of the various transportation and parking options available when attending events at the waterfront.
"Prince Arthur's Landing is an important gathering place for the community which will remain a dynamic tourist destination for years to come," said Kathy Ball, Operations Coordinator at Marina Park. "With tens of thousands of residents and visitors coming to the area for activities and events, we want to remind everyone to try to park outside of Marina Park and that walking, biking, carpooling and taking public transit is always encouraged."
There is a two-hour parking limit in all waterfront parking lots, excluding those with a boating/parking pass. The Watefront District Parkade on Court Street, various parking lots and on-street parking in the downtown north core are within a short walk of Prince Arthur`s Landing at Marina Park. Parking is free after 6 pm, and on weekends, in all lots with the exception of the Parkade.
Other options include:
Daytime:
- Utilizing Thunder Bay Transit (www.thunderbay.ca/transit)
- Active transportation (Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, etc.)
- Walking from downtown using the Camelot Street Pedestrian Entrance, the Pedestrian Overpass or the Pearl Street entrance
