The City of Thunder Bay is gathering resident feedback as it works on reopening plans for 55 Plus centre programs. No reopening date has been set at this time for the centres, which were closed at the start of the pandemic.
The City is launching an online survey to assess the level of comfort with reopening the two older adult centres which include the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre and the West Arthur Community Centre 55 Plus Programs.
Information gathered will help inform the direction the reopening process will take in terms of when the centres may open, what programming may be made available, and patrons’ level of comfort with safety measures in place. All reopening options will follow applicable Provincial and industry guidelines, as well as recommendations of the Medical Officer of Health, such as increased cleaning, mask use, reduced numbers, and social distancing.
Residents, especially those 55 plus in age or friends and family members of older adults, are encouraged to complete the survey which is available until Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020. In addition to public input, current users of the centres will also be directly contacted to share feedback.
