July 28, 2015 - The Waterfront Master Plan Update that was presented to City Council yesterday as a first report is now available online for residents to provide their comments.
The proposed Waterfront Master Plan Update builds upon the success of the Waterfront revitalization initiatives implemented through the first phase of waterfront development at Prince Arthur's Landing. The components of the report include:
- Master Plan for the lands South of Pearl Street known as Pool 6 and Tug Boat Basin
- Recommended enhancements to the Festival Area at Prince Arthur's Landing
- A separate Marina Study which examines potential locations for the expansion of marina facilities on the Thunder Bay waterfront
The development of the Master Plan Update was undertaken to move forward to what will be phase two of the City of Thunder Bay's revitalization of its urban waterfront. The Master Plan Update is designed to extend the success of Prince Arthur's Landing to future development through a progressive vision and a pragmatic implementation strategy.
There will be a Public Open House on September 15, and the Final Report will go to City Council on September 21.
