The City of Thunder Bay has developed an Employee Spotlight Series to highlight employees providing essential services during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
“City employees are working on the front lines and behind the scenes to deliver essential City services,” said Norm Gale – City Manager. “In order to do this, employees are adapting to the continually changing work environments, learning and implementing new safety precautions, and some staff are even doing work outside of their normal job. It is important to recognize and highlight the great work City employees are doing and to let them know they are appreciated.”
Norm Gale added, “It is also important to acknowledge the employees who are not working and living with the uncertainty of when they will be able to safely return to work.”
The City will regularly feature different City employees who will describe what it’s like working during the COVID-19 pandemic. It will also touch on special protocols in place to keep employees and residents safe, things residents can do to help keep employees safe, and silver linings to working during this difficult time.
Residents are encouraged to read and follow the Employee Spotlight Series, by visiting: www.thunderbay.ca/EmployeeSpotlight or following the official City of Thunder Bay Facebook Page.
