May 18, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay has launched a new service that reminds residents it is time to submit their water meter reading through email, text, or telephone. The Recollect Water Meter Reading Reminder Service is easy to use, and the reminders are provided at no additional cost to residents.
"The Reminder Service is simple to set-up and residents can choose to receive reminders, download a calendar with important dates relating to their water account and submit their water meter readings, all in one place," said Chantal Harris, Acting Manager - Billing & Collection Services. "Residents simply enter their account number and service address and choose how they would like to receive their reminder. This service helps ensure that customers never miss important dates relating to their water account."
SYSYTEM UPDATES
The Service to submit water meter readings has been updated and customers who currently use this program are asked to take note of the following changes:
"¢ Customers now have an option to text in their water meter reading
"¢ Residents are now required to enter all digits seen on their water meter, including all zeros and decimals
"¢ Water meter readings can only be submitted between the first and 21st of each month
This Service also allows the City to notify residents of public service announcements relating to their water account. For example, residents could be notified of future Boil Water Advisories through the reminder method of the residents' choice.
Residents can visit thunderbay.ca/remindme to register, or call the Revenue Division at 625-2255 for more information.
