The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to announce the listing of City-owned properties for sale on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). These properties have been designated as surplus and are being sold specifically for the purpose of building infill housing and increasing urban density.

The properties are strategically located throughout the city and present an excellent opportunity for developers and builders to contribute to the growth of Thunder Bay's housing market. Interested buyers can find the listings and incentives available at buildthunderbay.ca.

"We know that lots like these are in high demand," said Deanna Walker, Manager of Realty Services. "We are excited about the potential for these properties, and more being listed in the near future, to be purchased and developed quickly, adding much-needed housing options to our community.”

Thunder Bay's housing goals are ambitious, aiming to build 1,691 units in the next three years, and the designation and sale of surplus lands for housing development is a key component of the Housing Accelerator Strategy.

“Freeing up these surplus lands is a crucial step in helping developers build more housing quickly,” said Mayor Ken Boshcoff. "This initiative gets us one step closer to meeting our target and addressing the diverse needs of our community. This is an exciting time for Thunder Bay!”

The properties are currently listed on the MLS website, realtor.ca. More information on the properties and the incentives available through the Housing Accelerator Fund can be found by visiting buildthunderbay.ca.
