April 20, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay is calling on youth to embrace their inner foodie. Food Frenzy, presented by OPG, will take place Wednesday, May 3, from 3 - 7 pm, at the Kinsmen Center, 609 James St. N.
Food Frenzy offers hands-on experiences guided by local food and drink professionals. Youth participants will have the chance to discover local food and create their own dishes while enjoying music by LU Radio.
Highlights of Food Frenzy 2017 include:
- Gummy Bear Science with Science North
- Learning about Edible Wild Plants from Ontario Nature
- Making Energy Balls with Our Kids Count
- Experimenting with Egg Freshness with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit
- Expressing your love of local food with the Thunder Bay & Area Food Strategy
- Discovering how unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) are changing agriculture from Lakehead University Natural Resource Management Department
- Decorating cupcakes with YOUth Move
- And more!
Come learn about some great food movements happening right here in Thunder Bay. Food Frenzy is part of the City's annual Youth Week and Youth Arts Week celebrations. The intended audience is youth ages 13 - 19 years.
