The City of Thunder Bay has been recognized as having some of the best events in Ontario. Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO) has presented the City with two awards based on activities undertaken in 2019. Both Live on the Waterfront and SnowDay on the Waterfront were awarded the Top 100 Festivals & Events in Ontario.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognized for some of the top events in the province,” said Louisa Costanzo, Cultural Development & Events Supervisor. “Our team, alongside sponsors and community and service partners, is dedicated to providing free, inclusive, and fun events for all to enjoy. We offer high-quality events for locals and visitors alike.”

Award submissions were judged by an independent panel of judges. Festivals and events of all kinds from every corner of Ontario were represented in the submissions – from community festivals to internationally recognized events. Awards were handed out on Thursday, Feb. 27, during FEO’s Annual Conference “INNOVATE-Elevate-Enhance-Evolve” in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Top 100 recipients represent festivals and events that excel within the industry. Included in the Top 100 are the Festivals and Events of Distinction, a select group which represent some of the most well-known and respected celebrations in the province; celebrations which draw both an international and domestic audience.

The City strives to provide high-quality, entertaining, and enjoyable events for the entire community. To continue to grow and improve the events year over year, the City invites resident feedback. Until March 20, share your feedback from this year’s SnowDay on the Waterfront at www.thunderbay.ca/GetInvolved.
